Excellent crimson-purple; the wine has that special quality of merging power with elegance, intensity with finesse; it is no more than medium-bodied, but the quality of the blackberry and mulberry fruit has been neatly framed by 18 months' maturation in a mix of new and used French and American oak; the tannins are fine and supple and the wine has the balance for long-term ageing.
