2011 Ch Smith-Haut Lafitte 'Le Petit Haut Lafitte', Pessac-Leognan

Le Petit Haut Lafitte offers a clear, brilliant, deep dark red colour. The nose opens up quickly on aeration, revealing notes of red and black fruits (raspberries, blackberries and blackcurrants), hints of spices, liquorice, cedar, tobacco and a touch of smoke. The wine is firm and dynamic on the palate, with good tannic structure, an attractive texture and a lovely, smooth somehow delicate sweetness impression. The length is pronounced and frank, with a good concentration and rich, ripe flavours.
