The 2011 Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a good effort for this vintage. It possesses slightly more weight and power than many of its peers, yet still retains the attractive, elegant, up-front fruitiness and silky tannins that make this vintage a noteworthy choice for early consumption. It offers quality aromas and flavours of sweet black raspberry, bouquet garni, underbrush and hints of pepper to go with a medium-bodied, sweetly fruited and nicely concentrated profile on the palate. Enjoy it over the coming 5-8 years.
