The wine leads with savoury elements of dark spice and woodsy undergrowth that combine with black raspberry and berry notes. The palate, whilst softly textured, has a long juicy core of cherry fruit surrounded by finely woven tannin. The finish is long, driven and deep.
Mid-garnet; there is good depth of expression despite the challenges of the 2011 vintage, with the bouquet offering black cherry, spicy oak aromas and a prominent ironstone complexity; the palate is fleshy on entry, with a taut acid and tannin structure leading to a charry and slightly boney yet pleasantly long savoury finish.
