A rousing celebration of a cool vintage in southern Tasmania, hailing almost entirely from the Derwent Valley, tickled with just 4% Adelaide Hills fruit. Impeccably focused white fruits are accented with charcuterie and gunflint, driven by tightly coiled, highly strung acidity. New French oak (64%) weaves seamlessly into its folds. A keeper.

(Tasmania & Adelaide Hills) 64% new oak, the rest 1 year-old. 100% MLF. Bright, light yellow colour. Rich bouquet with some cashew nut and oatmeal aromas. The palate is deliciously soft and smooth, refined in texture and harmonious. Hints of peach and tropical fruits on palate. Very attractive wine, perhaps only lacking a smidgin in the length department. Terrific harmony and completeness. 19 FEB 2014
