Medium to full red/purple colour. The aroma is savoury and slightly subdued, with a savoury dryness suggesting dried herbs and less of the charming pinot aromatics. In the mouth it's again the least flattering of this maker's 2012 releases, with a more earthbound personality of straw, forest floor, clean earth and humus. A very savoury dry wine which is a little puzzling on the day - the least 'fruity' of the Escarpment releases. An excellent wine nonetheless. 28 AUG 2014 Drink 2015–2021
