The colour is light-straw and the bouquet is fresh crisp and complex, with some toasty background to the lemon citrus and meringue, nutty, nougat flavours and aromas. The palate is tight and refined, intense and very long. The line of the wine is quite excellent and the overall style and balance are superb. The finish is very dry, assisted by a slight phenolic grip, all in harmony. A superb blanc de blancs. 15 MAR 2019

Jacquart is the brand of the Alliance Champagne Group, a cooperative representing one of Champagne’s largest sources of grapes. The group is owned by 1800 growers, holding over 2600 hectares (and counting), spanning more than 60 crus across the Côte des Blancs, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Bar. Jacquart has grown dramatically since it was founded just over 50 years ago, now vinifying 1200 parcels separately from 350 hectares of its vineyard pool to create 3 million bottles of pleasant chardonnay-led blends of prominent dosage.
Freshness, purity and elegance are the mandates of the house, upheld by 37-year-old chef de cave Floriane Eznack, who left Veuve Clicquot to join the house in 2011. Its chardonnay-focused style calls for long ageing, and non-vintage cuvées are matured a minimum of four years, blanc de blancs at least six years.

Floriane Eznack, received the award of the best woman winemaker from the Sakura Award, a Japanese’s competition for women oenologist. Floriane became the 6th woman to gain this award which supports women working in a male-centric environment.

2012 was a year of changing weather patterns. The Champagne wine region suffered in 2012 from numerous adverse weather events, with winter and spring frosts, rain during flowering and cool temperatures lasting into July.
Despite this, warm, sunny days with frequent wind and cool nights in August enabled a superb, albeit small clusters harvest. The resultant must then wines showed impeccable balance and substantial ageing potential.
“A vintage wine is the jewel in any collection. It has been finely chiselled from the top growths to capture the quintessential qualities of an outstanding vintage in the bottle. The Champagne Jacquart vintage Blanc de Blancs elevates the spirit of Chardonnay and roots it as much in history as in its own specific provenance”. Floriane Eznack
