The bouquet & palate has the Estate’s typical cool climate cracked black pepper / spice combined with blackberry and licorice flavours and aromas. The firm fine grained tannins and acid provide excellent structure to the wine that will soften with bottle development. This is a wine that can be enjoyed young with food but will reward careful cellaring. 95 pts - JHalliday Matured for 18 months in new and 1yo French barriques. Youthful, clear crimson; the fragrant bouquet verges on flowery; the light to medium-bodied palate relies on its deceptively silky mouth-feel, spicy bright fruit flavours and extreme length to make its point.
