Wow. An old dog has certainly learnt some new tricks. 50% matured in 600l eggs, 50% in large format used oak; 38% whole bunches. The result is as good as, if not better than, any wine I have tasted with this semi-natural approach, the objective being, says Scott Ireland, to preserve freshness. It has outstanding drive, with the freshness coming as much from the dark fruits as the savoury tannins.
