It's not surprising that the PHI and De Bortoli Pinot Noirs should have similarities; Steve Webber is the winemaker of each, his guiding principle doing as little as possible in the winery, a philosophy close to that of Oakridge's David Bicknell, who worked for some years at De Bortoli. This is a wine of real authority, with a mix of savoury red and black fruits backed by savoury tannins, a rosy future ahead.
