This second-tier label is 'a vibrant expression of younger' vines and made for relatively early drinking – but the majority of the vines are still 10 to 20 years old. Hand-harvested at Martinborough, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in French oak casks, the 2014 (5*) is a top vintage. Deep and youthful in colour, mouth-filling and concentrated, it has lovely fruit sweetness and richness, with strong plum and spice flavours, finely structured and long. Best drinking 2017+.
