2014 Best's Bin 0 Shiraz, Great Western

Inky dark red with a bright purple hue. Floral and lifted spice aromas mingle with the jubey fruit and meaty/ black olive notes. Subtle oak, cinnamon, bay leaf and peppermint fill the background.  Intense and brooding flavours of cool fruits and warm spices create a plush mouth-feel around the fresh minerality and the long rolling finish.

A classic Bin 0 that will drink well now with food, but will benefit from some more time in bottle.

You probably already know that Halliday awarded 2014 Best’s Thompson Family Shiraz with 99 points the Wine of the Year title. Be prepared to part with $200 for a bottle if you can find one. Don’t despair. Its younger sibling is a fantastic replacement. And for only 3rd of the cost. As ever there is not a lot of it around. We have resisted pressure, for now, to put our price up. However, we have it from very reliable authority that Bin 0 will be priced substantially higher when the rated 2015 vintage is released. No serious cellar should be without a box of it. Enough said.
