Musky lime blossom on the nose. Tactile and extract-rich, displaying very good cut and energy to its flavors of lime and flowers. In a distinctly juicier style than the Désirée, thanks to good acid thrust. Refreshingly bracing on the aftertaste.

The 2014 Clos de la Barre is quite classic in style in 2014, and given this vineyard’s location a bit further down the slope, I am guessing that it was not much affected by the hail at the end of June. The wine certainly is a step up in terms of energy on the backend from the villages, as it jumps from the glass in a vibrant blend of apple, pear, a touch of fresh coconut, chalky minerality, apple blossoms and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, fullish and intensely flavored, with bright acids, lovely focus and grip, a very good core and a long, soil-driven and zesty finish. A very, very classy middleweight in the making in 2014. Drink between 2015-2025) (11/2015)

An expressive, airy and ripe nose layers together notes of lemon, lavender, acacia blossom and an interesting hint of tangerine. There is outstanding intensity to the saline and well-detailed middle weight flavors that brim with sappy dry extract on the slightly more complex and tension-filled finale. Lovely.(6/2016)
