The 2014 Volnay 1er Cru Caillerets, which Thomas Bouley said was the best terroir of the appellation (though his vines are relatively young at ten-years-old), has a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose, very intense fine mineral tones coming through.
The palate is harmonious and silky smooth, with beautifully-knitted tannins and plenty of lush red fruit with a svelte, very Volnaysian finish that is very seductive.
