40+yo vines, destemmed, open-fermented with cultured yeast, 12 days on skins, matured for 19 months in French hogsheads (75% new). Deep crimson-purple; absolutely from the big end of town, yet has grace, Rolls Royce style. The balance is impeccable, the mouthfeel totally harmonious, the black fruits, licorice and spice supported by fine-grained tannins, the new oak integrated but positive.
