Fruit from Thew Lane's highest, most exposed site on the vineyard. These vines are working incredibly hard throughout the growing season, their roots reaching deep into the ancient soils searching for scarce water resources through the limestone pores.
As a result this wine has unsurpassed lifted aromatics, always displaying blue flowers, heralding bright red and blue fruits on the palate. Not surprising it has a trophy winning heritage!
Deep ruby, vibrant purple hue. Intensely perfumed, blue fruits, black pepper bouquet.
palate is opulent and intense wild blackberries and forest fruits. Cherry, licorice, star anise with a savoury core of fine ripe tannin.

'A whole berry, wild yeast fermentation is completed in large format used French oak, matured in oak for 10-12 months, blended and returned to stainless steel for 4-6 months. As fresh as a daisy, and as juicy a light to medium-bodied shiraz can be, its red fruits and spice leading the way, the tannins soft and fine. Gold medal Adelaide Hills Wine Show '15.'
