A blend of shiraz and cabernet from the Hunter Valley, with the shiraz sourced from premium vineyards on the Tyrrell's property and Moon Mountain vineyard and the cabernet coming from Pokolbin.
Deep red/purple colour; the bouquet shows dried herb, eucalyptus aromas and earthy dark fruit nuances. The wine is full-bodied and has abundant flavour and tannin, albeit with less refinement and elegance than the Vat 9 or 4 Acres shirazes of the same year. The tannins are firm and less fine-grained. Very good wine all the same.12 JUN 2015 Drink 2020–2040

If you put this in the cellar the chances of you being disappointed when it reaches maturity are almost zilch. It has character and balance and, from such an excellent year, has enough fruit to keep the engine humming along, long time. A beautiful medium-weight, filigreed wine.
