This vineyard is the jewel in the crown for this estate. Planted in 1955, 4ha of steep (35º gradient) above the village of Condrieu, facing perfectly South/South East. The soil is a complex mix of ‘arzelle’ (decomposed granite. Mica and Schist.) 33% fermented in Stainless steel/67% in Barriques (25% of which are new), elevage in barriques for one year, then settled for 3 months in stainless steel. Yields 35hL/ha.
Not yet bottled, the blockbuster-styled 2015 Condrieu Coteau du Chéry is a big, full-bore beauty that doesn’t pull any punches with its decadent pineapple, tangerine, orange blossom, powdered rock and rose garden aromas and flavours. However, like all great wines, it stays light and lively on the palate, with beautiful freshness.. Drink 2018-2022.

Limpid yellow. Penetrating aromas of fresh citrus and pit fruits and violet are complicated by suggestions of ginger and dusty minerals. Juicy and deeply concentrated on the palate, offering intense white peach, pear nectar and orange zest flavours that show outstanding clarity. The floral note repeats emphatically on the penetrating finish, which lingers with superb focus and tenacity.
