Hand-picked, wild-fermented, some whole bunches, plunged four times daily, free-run juice and pressings matured separately in French puncheons for 12 months. Has much attitude, if not downright aggression (in pinot terms); fragrant dark cherry/berry fruit plus some whole bunch/forest floor nuances. The rich palate takes off from an earthy/foresty bed, and earned it three trophies (including Best Wine of Show) at the Australian Highland Wine Show. When and if it calms down it will be a very good pinot.

This is Red for Summer – served lightly chilled or cooled from the cellar. Juicy, ripe, mouth filling flavours of strawberry, redcurrant and spice. These fill the palate and balance softly to form a savoury structure that finishes clean and long. Ideal match for marinated spicy flavoured Asian or Mediterranean seafood, pork or duck. Also, a story for the table: Orange is fast becoming NSW’s region for producing premium sparkling wine varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay which means excellent quality still wines are also being crafted. This wine is a proof having received three trophies for Best Pinot Noir, Best Red and Best Wine at the 2015 Australian Highland Wine Show including 2 Gold Medals. The wines made by Chef turned Winemaker Duncan Cook and his wife Amber are highly recommended by both James Halliday and Huon Hooke as consistently very good and remarkable value for money.
