.."raspberry and licorice aromas are accented by a pungent stony element. Densely packed, concentrated, chewy wine with an almost chocolatey richness leavened on the back by saline mineral grip. This very rich village wine is carrying 14% alcohol "at a minimum," according to Bouley."

2015 Domaine Jean-Marc Bouley Volnay, Cote de Beaune, Burgundy is a soft broody little wine. Scents of crushed strawberry, violet and star of anise. The palate is soft and silky with a darberry fruit angle. More spice and smoke hangs in the background with a tight fine grained tannin structure. The finish is longish with a rich silky sweet but not sappy ending. Chinese bbq pork would do this wine justice.
