The 2015 Chardonnay Monterey has lemon curd, grapefruit, peaches and cream notes with a medium body, lovely purity and plenty of freshness. Richly textured and concentrated, with balanced acidity that drives a lingering finish. A lively, modern and uncomplicated style, it is perfect for everyday drinking! Drink 2017-2019.
Monterey is one of the World’s best cool-climate appellations with long, long valley, both pastoral and austere. On one end, the Monterey bay— dramatically deep, unusually cold. On the other, Central California, rich in history and agriculture. Throughout, a brisk, ever-present breeze that rises from the ocean and cools both fi¬elds of produce and expansive, rolling vineyards. This is Monterey—rocky, windswept, and unrestrained.
A cool climate means grapes spend more time on the vine. That allows a deeper, more dramatic spectrum of flavours and aromas to develop. And that creates decidedly rich and layered wines. Monterey has one of the longest, coolest growing seasons in California.
La Crema means ‘best of’. The 2015 La Crema has been matured five months in primarily French oak (20% new). On the nose, lemon, grilled pineapple and oyster shell. On the palate, peach, papaya and crisp tangerine notes are complemented by a touch of spice and complex minerality. Balanced acidity lingers on a long ¬finish.
