a big bolshie kind of dude shiraz. Dark dark intense black fruits with a nice spicy whoosh to it. There is great length to it and when it settles down, it is truly lovelyThe wine equivalent of a labrador. Really enjoyed this and continued to with some lamb

The Best Shiraz in the World
The 2015 Mr. Riggs Shiraz is a blend of two great McLaren Vale Shiraz vineyards: Piebald Gully, and Gateway. Perhaps one of Australia’s most consistent wine growing regions, McLaren Vale enjoys a very Mediterranean climate driven by dominant winter rainfall, low humidity, warm summers, and the moderating influence of the nearby Gulf St Vincent.
This is the fifteenth release of Shiraz under the Mr. Riggs label, pristine fruit with dark red berries, hints of spice, earth, tar and leather, with seamlessly integrated oak are the prime characteristics. Ripe tannins are apparent but not overwhelming, meaning this is a wine which can be enjoyed now or in the next 10-15 years.
Mr. Riggs Wine Co. was founded in 2001. It’s winemaker Ben Riggs oversees the continual evolution of his premium wines, utilising distinctive regional parcels of fruit from the McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills and Coonawarra. “The aim of all Mr. Riggs wines is to express the essence of the vineyard and varieties, in a style that I enjoy drinking.
The latin phrase Dum Vivo Cano taken from our Riggs family crest, translates to While alive, Celebrate. This has been my life-long philosophy and continues to be a benchmark to which I live by.” Relish the big events, but be sure to enjoy the steps along the way.
