Established in 1865 when Eduardo Seghesio planted his first Zinfandel vine in Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley, the Seghesio estate has gone on to make a name for itself for the quality of its wines and attention to detail. Located in Healdsberg in the heart of Sonoma wine country, the estate 121 hectares of vineyards located in the Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River
Valleys.
Seghesio are Zinfandel specialists with the variety accounting for 85% of their production and the wines winning many awards in local and international wine shows.
The 2015 Zinfandel Cortina is medium garnet-purple in color with a seducing nose of lilacs, rose hip tea, dusty soil and garrigue over a core of kirsch, baked raspberries and mulberries plus a touch of baking spices. Big, rich, full-bodied and equally seductive in the mouth, it has a firm frame of grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing long and spicy. 2,500 cases produced. Drink 2018-2028.
