Weingut Willi Schaefer is a Mosel wine estate based in the village of Graach in Bereich Bernkastel. The winery is a member of the VDP (The Association of German Quality and Prädikat Wine Estates) and is solely devoted to the production of high-quality Riesling wines. Weingut Willi Schaefer is a small family winery with a history dating back to 1121. The estate as it stands today was a result of the work of Martha and Willibrord Schaefer in the post-World War Two era. Today Weingut Willi Schaefer is overseen in part by the couple's son Willi, who took responsibility for his first harvest in 1971, and their grandson Christoph, who joined the family business in 2002 as co-owner. These vineyards comprise of up to 100-year-old, ungrafted vines that lie on steep slopes of Devonian blue slate.
