‘Bright yellow. Inviting aromas of peach, mandarine orange and minerals. Rich, fat, supple and easygoing; not hugely complex or intense but surprisingly energetic. Taut citrus and calcaire notes give lift to the finish, which leaves the mouth refreshed. Christine Saumize assured me that there's no Chardonnay Musqué planted in this vineyard. The crop level in 2016 was 55 hectoliters per hectare. Roger Saumaize noted that it was a dream of his to vinify Viré-Clessé. Drink 2017-2022’
