2016 Taltarni Sparkling Shiraz, Pyrenees

With lovely blackcurrant fruit that’s highlighted with notes of chocolate and spice, this wine shows magnificent depth and persistence. On the palate, the sweetness has married perfectly with robust tannins from the Pyrenees to produce a velvety texture. This wine has the elegance and structure expected from our terroir.

Deep red colour with a tinge of purple. The bouquet is fruit-driven and ripe, clean and rich, with a touch of cassis. The palate is medium-weight and has good flavour but also a trace of bitterness. The tannins are controlled and the sweetness is also on the modest side. Good, and it would be better with food.06 NOV 2018
