Medium to full purple/red, youthful colour. Dark fruits, subtle violets, raspberry, blueberry and blood plum aromas, the palate sinewy and tangy with bright acidity and a touch of leanness. The acidity is lively but balanced. Elegant and intense, it has potential. It seems leaner and less powerful than recent Coleraines, but very much in the groove. It responded to airing, and was even better the next day 22 APR 2018

A head-spinning array of violet, red and black fruits, gentle spiced biscuit oak, green olive, and lead pencil. It’s medium-bodied, succulent, yet firm, with toothsome tannin, a beautiful mouth-perfume, black tea and small just ripe berries, and a finish where freshness, vibrancy and tannin push the wine very long. A classic vintage. Stunning wine. Precision.
