The 8.5 hectare Pomerol vineyard of Chateau Lafleur-Gazin is planted to 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.
Lafleur-Gazin can be enjoyed young, but ideally 4-6 years should be the norm and then for next 5-6 yeras there after.and is best served with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised and grilled dishes. Chateau Lafleur-Gazin is also good with Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms and pasta.
The 2017 Lafleur-Gazin is bold, juicy and forward, with terrific balance and class. Ripe, racy and voluptuous, the 2017 fills out beautifully in the glass. Soft, silky tannins add to an impression of plushness. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, flowers and new leather meld together in this decidedly sumptuous, racy Pomerol. All the elements simply fall into place. In 2017 Lafleur-Gazin is an effortless, sumptuous Pomerol.

A medium-bodied, firm and silky red with dark-berry, herb and dark-chocolate character. Fresh and fine

100% Merlot at this 8.5ha Moueix estate. Yields were affected by frost, but they did not use the second generation buds. It's rich in colour, with some lovely vibrant reflections. There's a lovely mix of peppery red fruits and a good balance of tannic grip and mouthwatering delivery. The fruit is a little more redcurrant than raspberry, suggesting it was on the fresher side of ripe, but there is plenty to enjoy here, and a pick for me for early drinking.
