While it's a proverbial name, it won't enhance the wine's prospects with canine lovers - which is a pity, for this is a very attractive mataro that has counterintuitively flourished in the cool vintage. The colour is bright and deep, the palate flush with spicy/plummy fruits, the tannins soft.
