75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 8% Malbec Vibrant, bright and enticing, with plush cassis, spiced plum, black forest cake and lemongrass aromas leading through to seamless oak, rolling tannins and savoury, plummy, lush black berry fruit.

Medium-weight in the glass, soft purple colour with crimson edges. A green tinge to the nose - not in a bad way - fresh and floral. Violets and cassis. Taut and sinewed when sipped, a dried herb seam right through red and purple-berried fruits. Quality oak adds a vanillan note. Very good. 22 MAR 2020 Drink 2020–2028

A bigger Bordeaux family is here, for not only is this wine led by cabernet sauvignon and merlot but malbec and petit verdot also appear. They form a complex and exciting wine, making the '18 a very good follow-up to the excellent '17 release. Purple, almost black, and dense in colour, it is warm and inviting with typical Margaret River's terroir notes of eucalypt, Aussie bush, bay leaf, all sorts/licorice confection, spice and ripe black fruits. Plush and seamless, it has enjoyed its 12 months in French oak and been all the better for the experience.
