HALF BOTTLE 375ML
The Château Filhot was founded in 1709 by Romain de Filhot and is now owned and managed by one of his descendants: count Henri de Vaucelles.
The estate covers an area of 350 hectares with 62 hectares of vineyard all along the south of the Sauternes village in the Sauternes appellation.
The wine may be served at the best temperature for the tasting. For the sweet wines, this temperature is around 10°C. It could be suitable to open the bottle at the right time too. A airing could sometime benefit to the wine, specially for the oldest vintages. You can also decant the wine into a decanter. It helps to separate any deposit often present in old wines and to develop the bouquet
Smoke and gunpowder give this a confident start, and you find attractive grapefruit and blood orange as it opens in the glass. Rich, but attractive. Drinking Window 2021 - 2034

Pale to medium lemon-gold, the 2018 Filhot offers a serious, confident nose of well-defined lemon curd, pineapple upside-down cake and dried mangos with hints of cedar chest, Manuka honey and allspice. Full, rich and packed with powerful tropical fruit and spicy layers, it finishes long and opulent.
