James Halliday has announced the 2019 Halliday Australian Cabernet Challenge Trophy winner as Ringbolt Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 from Margaret River.
The wine scored 97 points and was awarded the top prize against more than 350 other entries from 25 regions across Australia, as well as Margaret River Best of Region.
Ringbolt Winemaker Heather Fraser said the Cabernet Sauvignon made in what she described as “near perfect Cabernet Sauvignon ripening conditions”.
Now in its fourth year, the Halliday Australian Cabernet Challenge celebrates the producers of Cabernet Sauvignon who are striving to make the best possible wines that reflect a sense of place.
