'just' off-dry This kabinett style riesling (containing 30 grams of residual sugar) is made from select low yielding vines within the Isolation Ridge vineyard. The conditions to make this wine do not occur every year.
Elevated levels of acidity leading up to harvest allow the fruit to be harvested in clean optimal condition. a very cold fermentation is undertaken in 1000 litre French oak foudre.
A long fermentation period is finished early leaving some residual sugar to give optimal balance. This allows the wine to show its true generosity and intensity of flavour.
Made in an off-dry style, and inevitably compared with its counterparts from the Mosel and Rheingau. Risking repetition, it is one of the few Australian rieslings that combines the intense, nervy minerality of these wines with pure and delightful varietal character, a testament to the region, vineyard and winemaker. A masterclass in poise and balance.

This is excitingly youthful. Yet, it has a very complex array of spices, white peaches, citrus and stony minerally accents. The palate is very powerful, and the fruit ripeness is right on. There is a strong and tart grapefruit-like thread that holds the long finish. Best from 2022.
