The Maison Dosnon is located in Avirey-Lingey, in the heart of an unique terroir of Champagne called La Côte des Bar. Found in the southern part of the Champagne region, the vineyards are situated on rolling hills of hard limestone soils like Chablis. Davy Dosnon, native of Avirey-Lingey, wanted to create a modern and ecologically sustainable Maison de Champagne, endeavouring to achieve excellence and to honour and celebrate the diversity and quality of their terroir. The terroir, dominated by clayey-limestone soils, inspires particularly rich aromas and flavours in the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which acquire an exceptional finesse and fruitiness as they age.
“Davy Dosnon runs this small, artisan cellar in Avirey-Lingey. Dosnon pursues sustainable viticulture and makes his wines in a fairly non-manipulated style. All of the wines are fermented and aged in oak (although they rarely show overt influence from the wood) and are bottled with low dosage. Based on what I have tasted so far, Dosnon is one of Champagne’s most promising young wineries.”
