In 1984 Olivier and Patrick Leflaive left the family business, Domaine Leflaive, to establish the negociant house that bears their name. At the same time, they agreed with their family at Domaine Leflaive that the vineyards they owned would remain under contract with the Domaine. This contract came to term in 2010 and the vineyards have now come back under the control of Olivier and Patrick Leflaive and their company, Olivier Leflaive Frères. It is a spectacular holding including parcels of Bâtard Montrachet, Chevalier Montrachet, Puligny Montrachet Pucelles and Meursault Blagny. These holdings join the properties in Chassagne Montrachet, Abbaye de Morgeot and Clos St Marc, that have always been managed by Olivier Leflaive Frères and bring the new Domaine Olivier Leflaive to a total of close to 17 hectares, most Premier and Grand Cru. The new parcels are referred to as Recolte du Domaine and are all farmed biodynamically (as they were under the management of Domaine Leflaive). The first vintage for these new wines is 2010.
With a golden-green color, a spectacular fragrance, an appetizing mouth, a rich and elegant palate with a nice concentration of fruit, vibrant acidity and a smooth texture. Recommended date of consumption: between 2022 and 2026.
Ideal with truffled Bresse chicken, fillet of sole with porcini mushrooms or American lobster.

Les Pucelles is situated next to the grands crus of Bienvenues and Bâtard, and often seems to produce a serious, well-upholstered style of Chardonnay. This is rich yet focussed and balanced, with some stone fruit sweetness, scented oak and the freshness and precision that characterise Franck Grux's winemaking style. Drinking Window 2020 - 2025

Opening in the glass with notes of crisp yellow orchard fruit, Anjou pear, peach, honeycomb and buttered toast, the 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles (Récolte du Domaine) is medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with an impressively racy spine of acidity, excellent concentration and a long, penetrating finish. Combining the amplitude of which this climat is capable with cut and tension that's impressive in an inherently sunny vintage, this is a terrific effort from Olivier Leflaive, derived from holdings that were formerly farmed and vinified by Domaine Leflaive.

This is dense and layered, yet remains agile. Full body, very pretty fruit and a flavorful finish. Cooked apples with hints of lemons. Peach skins, too. Drink or hold. Feb 2019
