Hand-picked, wild and cultured yeast, matured in French oak (45% new) for 12 months. The bouquet and palate are dominated by cherry fruit (red and black) to the exclusion of all else; it is a step closer to full pinot varietal character, and will repay 2-3 years in bottle as the inherent spices start to develop. This is a masculine wine looking for a mate.
“Light to medium red colour with a good tint of purple. The bouquet is fresh and sweetly-perfumed, with a bounty of cherry and spice aromas. The wine is intense, medium-bodied and has a fine, sinewy patina of tannin which cleanses the finish. The wine is overall charming and satisfying, a lovely drink.”
