It’s winemaker Ben Riggs oversees the continual evolution of his premium wines, utilising distinctive regional parcels of fruit from the McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills and Coonawarra. “The aim of all Mr. Riggs wines is to express the essence of the vineyard and varieties, in a style that Ben enjoys drinking.
The Latin phrase Dum Vivo Cano taken from Riggs family crest, translates to While alive, Celebrate. This has been Ben's life-long philosophy and continues to be a benchmark to which he lives by.” Relish the big events, but be sure to enjoy the steps along the way.
This is the distilled essence of McLaren Vale: full-bodied black fruits, dark chocolate, licorice and tar - and then a superb juicy finish that demands the next mouthful is tasted forthwith. Tannins and oak lend appropriate support.
