Lively bright red. Pure mineral driven aromas of red cherry, quinine, raspberry nectar, coriander, cumin and cinnamon, are lifted by a note of white pepper with building riper coffee and marzipan notes. Dense, energetic and a little reduced on entry, then blossoms with air showcasing focused flavors of raspberry, strawberry, minerals and almond paste. Nicely balanced and deep, with repeating raspberry and strawberry notes that offer a bright, tangy, refreshing quality on the long luscious finish.

Here is an exciting new wine from Alberto Aiello Graci. The single-vineyard 2015 Etna Rosso Feudo di Mezzo is comprised of 95% Nerello Mascalese and 5% Nerello Cappuccio. The wine opens to a dark garnet color with bright ruby highlights. The bouquet is redolent of wild berry, crushed stone and a tangy hint of spicy Spanish cedar. The mouthfeel delivers a stronger tannic bite, and I would suggest giving the wine another year or two of cellar aging to allow for even integration.
