From Contrada Caselle on the Eastern slopes of Etna, considered the cru zone for Carricante and Etna Bianco. This is 100% Carricante from bush trained pre-phylloxera vines aged 100-120 years old at an altitude of 850 metres. Carricante takes its name from carico, meaning 'charged, loaded, burdened' which refers to the abundant fruit on the vine.
Vinification and maturation are in stainless steel and the wine shows floral and lemon notes with mineral and chalk, the crisp palate is refreshing and layered with texture.
Very pale straw color. Gorgeous nose of white peach, lime, minerals and jasmine. Then fresh and crisp, but with an underlying glyceral note that provides backbone to the zingy citrus and pomaceous orchard fruit flavors. Finishes extremely long with strong notes of fresh ginger and an underpinning of mineral dust. An outstanding Etna Bianco.

Freshly sliced lemons, guava peel, green apples and spices. Medium body, fine layering of acidity and a floral, pretty finish. Drink now.
