This Sicilian estate just an hour southwest of Palermo sourceS fruit from around the ancient town of Gibellina and of course on Mt. Etna. Tenute Orestiadi is a project born of the Orestiadi Foundation, based in Gibellina, and a local co-op Cantine Ermes.
The name Nerello Mascalese originates from Mascali, a small village in the foothills of Mount Etna.
Grown on black, silt rich, compacted soils 500 metres above sea level. Nerello Mascalese is at home at the high altitude and gives wines that are fragrant and mineral-driven. This rosato has beautiful aromas of strawberry and raspberry, then a signature volcanic soil minerality on the palate. The wine finishes cleanly with a lick of that strawberry fruit remaining. A delightful Rosato!
