Deep ruby red in colour, this Pinot Noir has powerful aromas of dark cherry and spice with subtle hints of dried herbs. The palate has the trademark Spring Vale intensity of dark berry fruit flavours, plush mouthfeel and forest floor undertones. Finishes with persistent velvety tannins. Will reward careful cellaring of 5-10 years, but if you don’t have the patience enjoy with spicy barbequed leg of lamb.
Machine-harvested, open-fermented, 10-12 days on skins incorporating 3 days cold soak, matured in old French oak for 3 months. A very powerful, intense and focused wine that utterly belies its cheap vinification.

Good depth and hue of colour. Sweetly-ripe dark cherry aromas, liqueur cherries. Faintly smoky. Succulent palate; gorgeous flavour of ripe sweet dark cherry. Faint whiff of green stems. Lush fruit on palate, backed by ample fine tannins, but the fruit does the talking. Delicious wine: pristine fruit, generous ripeness. MV6 clone? 14 JAN 2020 Drink 2020–2032
