From vineyards located just across the river from Chateauneuf du Pape on sandy soils this wine shows the perfumed and supple side of Grenache grown on sandy soils

Macerated red cherry fruits , white pepper, warm leather and garrigue all flow to a mid-weight wine that’s perfect for drinking over the coming 3-4 years.

The appellation area is situated on the right bank of the Rhone River, between Orange and Avignon, in the village of Roquemaure, near .

The property is located on a plateau covered with large rounded stones. Grenache Syrah Mourvèdre .It is a Mediterranean one with particularly hot summers. The Mistral wind blows away any humidity, ensuring very favourable climatic conditions for the cultivation of vines.

All grapes are hand picked, which enables to select the best grapes. This is a major point in the quality of our wines. After complete de-stemming, the grapes are macerated and punched down during two to three weeks to ensure maximum extraction of tannins and colour. Once the malolactic fermentation is completed, a third of the volume is brought up in Burgundian barrels of 228 litres; the other part is kept in vats. Then, we make a single assemblage, which will be bottled at the Estate about 18 months after the harvest. Once the wine is in the bottle, they remain for at least four in our cellars before being shipped. Our Liracs can be appreciated from the second year with a prevailing taste of red fruit. They will reach their fullness between the third and the sixth year but can be kept longer depending on the vintage and the storage conditions.

70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre aged 2/3 in tank and 1/3 in barrel. These vineyards were purchased in 1997.
The full-bodied 2017 Lirac is dense, concentrated and a bit tannic, so give it a year or two in bottle to settle down. By then, the astringency should have subsided enough to let the dark cola, spice and black cherry notes glide more easily across the palate. Drink 2020-2026.
