A red with plenty of ripe fruit with plum and chocolate character, as well as walnuts. Medium body. Sweet fruit and fine tannins.

A slightly richer style of Corbin than we have seen in some recent vintages but it is entirely successful. Plum and blueberry flavours, well balanced with a juicy frame and mouthwatering finish. 40% new oak. New consultancy with Jean-Luc Thunevin. 80% 1st wine. A yield of 48hl/ha. The 2019 Corbin has a tightly wound, estuarine tinged bouquet, hints of oyster shell and seaweed underlying the slightly smudged red fruit. The palate is saline on the entry and moderate in depth but with a fine thread of acidity that lends a bit of "zip" towards the savory finish. Maybe just a little excess toastiness here? Not bad at all though.
The 2019 Corbin is a powerful, virile wine. Dark fruit, leather, spice and menthol come together here. The 2019 needs time in the glass to add finesse and elegance.
