They are doing such a great job at this estate, and this is an absolutely delicious wine. It is just dripping with apricot, nectarine, white truffle and ginger, with a zing of lemon zest taking things up a notch through the finish. Fleshy yet flinty, silky texture, brilliant. Rich, spicy and oh-so-decadent in the mouth, the palate delivers lots of sweet, unctuous layers with a wonderful oiliness to the texture, finishing long with a refreshing lift.

This is a refined, subtle Sauternes with dried lemons, peaches and hints of cooked apples. Some spices, too. Medium to full body and medium-sweet with a creamy-textured finish. Very refined.

The 2019 Lafaurie-Peyraguey Blanc has a refreshing nose with scents of sea spray and dew-speckled Granny Smith apples. The palate is well balanced with touches of yellow plum and lemon rind on the entry, quite saline and certainly spicy thanks to a dab of ginger towards the finish. Good potential, though not the most complex.
