Fruit was grown at Willunga and Blewitt Springs vineyards that range from 30 to 80 years in age. Blewitt Springs provide elegance, spice and strong natural acid backbone, while Willunga fruit adds mulberry and anise characteristics.
A more hedonistic expression of shiraz, differentiating itself from the syrah bottling through a little more new oak and a barrel selection process that sees those with a more explosive personality dedicated to this cuvee. This said, the wine does not veer into jam. The dark, sapid fruit flavours are true to plummy form, with mulberry and blueberry notes, too. A skein of bright acidity laced with anise and pepper grind brings focus. The tannins intertwine and wrap it all into a generous frame.
