2019 A.A. COS Frappato, Sicily

This is the most expressive and interesting Frappato to hit our shores for some years. Bright & crunchy, full of cherry, cranberry and red currant fruit with limestone minerals as a backbone.

COS itself needs little introduction .... Leaders of the natural wine movement in the World, Guisto Occhipinnti and Giambattista Cilia started in 1980 to make wines from abandoned family vineyards and over the years developed a unique terroir-driven style for their Wines. Frappato is left on skins for an entire year and is aged in cement tanks and Anfora (pithos)

Zibibbo 90% Grecanico 10%

This is a really cool, biodynamic wine with dried lemon and apple and plenty of grape skin character. Lemon leaf, too. Full body, phenolic and flavorful. A gorgeous amphora-made white. Drink now.

What a great wine this is again ... all about beautiful aromatics from the Muscat variety, great purity with floral and honey characters on the nose, clean, intense and vibrant are the words that come to mind. Finish is lovely, elegant and dry with a hint of salinity.
