Deepish red with a tinge of purple, the bouquet vegetal, earthy, meaty and slightly funky - possibly due to some whole-bunch ferment. Chocolate, vanilla and black cherry flavours, fruit-sweet and quite delicious to taste. Firm but finely-sculpted tannins, good balance and length. The value for money is outstanding.

Squeaky clean, well ripened, fresh, medium in weight and polished. It doesn't put a foot wrong, and drinking it is a pleasure. Red berries more than black, woodsy spice notes rather than any overt oak. You can buy with confidence.
