Delatite Pinot Gris has the typical fruit characters of ripe pears that are common from Delatite’s fruit but also with a some wonderful stone fruit and apple in the background with some floral notes. The palate is full and round with a hint of residual sweetness and a long finish.
Enjoy with seafood with a hint of spice, salt and pepper squid is a great example.
This is an exceptional gris, a harbinger of a style that is increasingly versatile at the table and reflective of this country's more sophisticated dining culture, both in the restaurant and at home. These mid-weighted highly textural wines are founded, too, in greater winemaking expertise: ambient yeast and neutral wood. After all, gris does not need too much embellishment, but the confidence to allow baked autumnal fruit notes to ease across a peddle of gentle phenolics. This does so in style.'
