The nose is boisterous with juicy red raspberry, summery cherry lusciousness and heady charred French oak. The brightly focussed palate is pure and a wash with juicy red currant, dried inca berries, cherries, briary blackberries and herbaceous nuance. The ultra-fine structure offers seamless tannin, supported by a lively acid backbone that will see this wine age gracefully at least for a decade. Would pair well with grilled Atlantic Salmon or eggplant lasagne.
MV6 planted '88 on the north-facing slopes of the property. Made using carbonic infusion techniques with 25% whole bunches on top of destemmed fruit, matured in French oak (75% new) for 9 months. The bouquet is so intense there's little need to swirl the glass as the high-toned fusion of spiced fruits and cedary oak fill the senses. The palate has a unique taste profile with the flavours meeting the tip of the tongue then following through to the finish. Made by Robin Brockett.
