Scents of pear, fresh pastry and orange oil introduce the 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Le Trézin, a medium to full-bodied, elegantly satiny wine that's fleshy but racy. Colin observes that he likes to pick this site around 12.5% potential alcohol, as it can become flabby if harvested later.

A more elegant nose offers up notes of acacia blossom, pear, apple and hints of citrus zest and matchstick. The rich and round flavors aren't as voluminous but they're sleeker while retaining a seductive mouthfeel and particularly so on the attractively dry and vibrant mineral-inflected finale. This is a lovely Puligny villages that should develop well over the mid-term.
